MP3’s Everywhere

February 11, 2008

Listening to Fillmore West Dead on my CD player as I write this.  Sounds awesome.  Pigpen was so ahead of his time.  Anyway, something occurred and amazed me today.  I was thinking about how I love music and have to always listen to something.  Then I noticed how many people were walking around with Ipods (or some MP3 player), listening to their own soundtracks.

I got jealous because I realized, despite loving music so much, I do not have an MP3 player of my own.  All these other people get to listen to whatever they want, whenever they want and I sometimes have to listen to whatever exists in the environment that I am in.

I know for a fact that I can often provide a much better soundtrack for life than what I usually hear from the existing environment, yet I do not have my own MP3 player to entertain myself and escape with.  I think that’s pretty sad.

Unfortunately Ipods, MP3’s, and new, cool, electronic gadgets like that cost money and I don’t have a heck of a lot of that lately, so I’ll have to just suffer for now, which is sad & difficult, but I’ll try to get through it.  In the mean time, I have lots of CD’s and several CD players to help me survive.
